🦖 Moor Mead FC’s Youth Development Program 🦖

Welcome to the Moor Mead FC (MMFC) “Dinos” Website!

Welcome to the home of the “Dinos,” Moor Mead FC’s vibrant youth development program for kids.

Our youngest football stars, the Dinos, roar into action in September with classes for Reception (U5) and continue to evolve through Year 1 (U6), Year 2 (U7), and our final Years 3 & 4 split (U8-U9).

At MMFC, we are dedicated to creating a fun and competitive environment for co-educational football. We warmly invite both boys and girls to join our dino-mite team and embark on their early football development journey in St. Margarets. Let’s make some prehistoric memories together!

Our Mission: Football holds cultural significance for many around the world. Our goal is to nurture and develop kids into confident football players, ensuring that wherever they go, they will always feel at home with a ball at their feet.

Community Focus: We are a community-led football club where parents are integral to the journey. Please get in touch with us to find out how you can become part of our team.

Reception (U5) - Hatchlings

New to football?  So are all our U5 players, so it's the perfect time to join. Sessions will be designed to be fun, and cater to all levels of coordination and concentration. At this age, it's natural that some kids will struggle to stay focused, so we focus a lot of time on engaging them to follow basic instructions.

Year 1 (U6) - Inactive listeners

Moving up to Year 1 football is a big deal for our youngsters.  This level is perfect for introducing basic ball dribbling and passing skills, as coordination improves. Kids at this age need constant guidance, and need to learn how to listen and follow direction.  Most drills we do teach them these fundamental skills, as they develop important social skills with their peers, they also learn how to work together as a team.

Year 2 (U7) to Non-League Year 4 (U9)

Years 2 & 3 children are now engaged with their desire to play football. The competition levels increase dramatically, and their natural desire to compete starts to flourish.  At this level we introduce a lot of Foundational skills development, such as passing, dribbling, shooting.  Strength, agility, speed, and endurance training will also be part of our focus, to improve their overall athleticism.
